Research

I focus on integrative science, aiming to understand the complex interactions between organisms and their environment. To do this I use a combination of eco-physiology, behaviour and mechanistic modeling techniques.

Specifically, I use a combination of field observations, laboratory experiments and computational models to understand how organisms respond to changes in their environment, and how these responses affect ecosystem functioning. By integrating these different techniques, I aim to paint a comprehensive picture of the challenges species are face in a rapidly changing world and to inform conservation strategies that ensure the long-term survival of species.

I  was recently awarded the 2024 Jennifer Ward Oppenheimer Research Grant for my project Linking physics and biology to inform wildlife conservation under global change: an interdisciplinary approach across terrestrial and freshwater systemsFollow along here for updates as we begin to further untangle how habitat features define thermal landscapes at the microhabitat level, and how this influences animals physiology, behaviour and ultimately survival.
